Board Appoints Sara P. Boeshans as Executive Secretary
On November 17, 2023 the Board appointed Sara P. Boeshans as Executive Secretary of the Board. Ms. Boeshans will replace the current Executive Secretary, Ret. Judge Thomas M. Sipkins, who is retiring on January 2, 2024.
Ms. Boeshans' appointment as Executive Secretary will be effective January 2, 2024.
Ms. Boeshans graduated from William Mitchell College of Law and was admitted to practive in 2007. She clerked for Judge Marybeth Dorn, Second Judicial District, after which she was employed as an Assistant Attorney General in the public safety and health licensing divisons of the Minnesota Attorney General's Office. Ms. Boeshans has served as the Board's staff attorney since 2015.
The Executive Secretary of the Board is reponsible for reviewing complaints about judges, conducting investigations as directed by the Board, and providing informal advisory opinions to judges on request.
